From London to Haikou, we have travelled thousands of miles and centuries, following long-established tradition.

This annual Speech Day is held to celebrate the growth and progress of each Harrow student over the past year.

The staff team and parents have been solid support for Harrow students throughout this wonderful school year, which has enabled the children to face challenges and opportunities with courage and to bring the end of the term with great success.

At Speech Day, the students receive their honours from the Headmistress of Harrow Haikou to round off the term.

授奖演讲日

授奖演讲日（Speech Day）有着超过两百年的悠久历史，它标志着一整个学年的结束，是哈罗一个神圣且极具意义的年度庆典。

在这一天，全校师生聚首一堂，共同庆祝哈罗海口这学年的完美落幕。在这一天，我们不仅会宣布和表彰获奖者的具体成就，还会聆听来自校长和学生代表的演讲，并颁布孩子们最期待的年度院舍杯大奖。在这一天，我们传承哈罗人“勇气、荣誉、谦和、互助”的核心价值理念，一同庆祝过去一年中的辉煌成就，纪念学年中无数个精彩瞬间。

Speech Day

With a long history of over two hundred years, Speech Day marks the end of an entire academic year and is a sacred and highly significant annual celebration at Harrow.

On this day, the whole school comes together to celebrate the end of a perfect academic year at Harrow Haikou. On this day, we will not only announce and recognise the specific achievements of the award winners, but also hear speeches from the Headmistress and student representatives, as well as present the annual House Cup award that the children are most looking forward to. It is a day to celebrate the achievements of the past year and to commemorate the countless moments of the year as we carry on the core Harrow values of courage, honour, humility, and fellowship.

我们的学校社区是建立在勇气、互助、荣誉和谦和之上的。这是哈罗的核心价值观，不管是现在还是将来都会伴随着我们。

一砖一瓦——每天在你所做的事情里，都不要忘记体现这些价值观，无论你可能面临什么挑战。人生的成就有起有落，但价值观却恒久不变。这些价值观是你们构建今天和未来的砖瓦基石。

担任你们的创始校长是我的荣幸。而此时对我来说是一个非常苦乐参半的时刻，那就是向你们所有人说再见。请收下我留给你们的最后一块砖，继续在我们的基础之上建设我们的学校，坚定地面对挑战，相互支持，并始终尽己所能。

Each brick that is laid by each of us, makes our school stronger, and through strength we can weather any challenges that we may face. Whether academic challenges, friendship challenges, changes that happen unexpectedly or being resilient to face any challenge and to celebrate our successes whether they are yours or others.

Brick by brick – demonstrate these values daily in all that you do, no matter the challenges you may face. Success ebbs and flows, but values remain constant. They are your bricks to build upon today and in the future.

It has been an honour and a privilege to be your founding Head Mistress, and this is a very bittersweet moment for me - to say goodbye to you all. Please take my last brick and continue to build upon our foundations by facing challenges with determination, supporting each other and giving your best always.

Whether or not you are holding a trophy today, please say a big thank you to yourself for your efforts in trying to be the best over the past year.

Each and every Harrow student has made progress and grown during the 2022-23 academic year. Your hard work and perseverance are evident to all. On this day, you deserve to be proud of yourselves!

Passion rebuilds the world for the youth. It makes all things alive and significant.Becoming exceptional is not a destination, but a journey.

It is a journey that continues throughout our lives, a journey of passion and perseverance.What students should be proud of and rewarded for is not only their academic achievements. Finding their passions, showing their talents with confidence, displaying their excellent character, and gaining the friendship of fellow students are also remarkable moments in their growth.

A bright future is ahead of us as we continue to walk. Once again, congratulations to all our students on their growth and progress during the year.

We look forward to seeing you all on the Harrow campus in September for another exciting year!
